I usually don’t take pictures of strangers and post them online but…
Today at Target this lady was being dragged by her two sons into the toy aisle and since I was looking at Transformers I happened to see them go by. These boys were REALLY excited about something and I wasn’t sure what, so out of curiosity I peeked around the “boy’s aisle” and….
They were grabbing tons of different dolls and accessories and begging their mom for them and what she told them was priceless.
She didn’t say no because they were boys who wanted “girl’s toys”….she said,
“You already have Ariel, don’t you want someone else?”
And one of the boys just kept yelling how Ariel was his favorite.Their mom was just so frustrated and exhausted like they must beg her for princess toys all the time and they probably have so many back at home and I’m sorry but that’s just adorable ;w;
Parenting. You’re doing it right.
My honest opinion
To be totally honest with someone-everyone-, totally vurnable and open is one of the scariest thing possible. To be put in a spot in which to be shot is terrifying. To be laughed at, spit at, cut at is humiliating. This is the position honesty puts you in. This is the place that makes you feel insecure so you lie and you put up a front. You act like you’re all cool and nobody is above you. You’re on top of the world. Well my honest opinion on that, you’re all cowards. But maybe I’m lying right now. Maybe I’m hiding behind a confident front. Maybe I’m just as much a coward as you are. Or maybe not.
We were tired of being targets of manipulation and exploitation; tired of being maggot excuses for raids upon our assembly, tired of being someone else’s scapegoat for some other reason. Tired of being threatened and harassed and entrapped and told what we were, what to do, and how to do it, when to do it, how to feel, what to say, how to be, what to be..ya can’t be it outside, nor can you inside! We rioted because rich, or poor, young or old, we dared to be ourselves. We wanted to be ourselves, to be, to laugh and play in joy! We rioted to be gay.
